During my stay over New Year's, I enjoyed the warm hospitality of the host, who offered us matcha tea and treats upon arrival, as well as a parting gift when we left. The spacious and comfortable bedroom provided a cozy and comfortable retreat. Additionally, the location of the guesthouse was convenient, with easy access to public transportation and the surrounding Rinzai Zen Buddhist temples.
The overall cleanliness of the guesthouse left much to be desired, particularly in the kitchen, eating area, and bathrooms. Additionally, the thin futons and flat pillows did not provide the most comfortable sleeping arrangements.

I had a wonderful time staying at a charming old Japanese home run by a kind elderly woman. The traditional style of the house, with its sliding doors, tatami mat room, and narrow hallways, created a unique and authentic experience. Despite not being able to lock the doors, I felt safe and secure throughout my stay. The quiet neighborhood, with its small temple complex, added to the peaceful atmosphere. Mrs. Tani, the host, was delightful and made sure I was comfortable, providing a delicious Japanese breakfast and fruit every morning. The location, though a bit further from downtown, was easily accessible by a bus. Highly recommended for young travelers seeking a one-of-a-kind experience.
100% Recommend this hotel.
