staying at tani house was a delightful surprise. the traditional japanese style, cozy rooms, and tasty breakfast made it a memorable stay. the host's kindness and english fluency added to the warm atmosphere. a perfect escape from the modern world.

    Directions were confusing and misleading.

During my stay over New Year's, I enjoyed the warm hospitality of the host, who offered us matcha tea and treats upon arrival, as well as a parting gift when we left. The spacious and comfortable bedroom provided a cozy and comfortable retreat. Additionally, the location of the guesthouse was convenient, with easy access to public transportation and the surrounding Rinzai Zen Buddhist temples.

The overall cleanliness of the guesthouse left much to be desired, particularly in the kitchen, eating area, and bathrooms. Additionally, the thin futons and flat pillows did not provide the most comfortable sleeping arrangements.

Budget accommodation with kitchen facilities and a variety of breakfast options including fruit and homemade rice-sesame balls. Friendly staff and a convenient location near a great onsen. Traditional Japanese house with AC available 24/7 for comfort during hot summer days. Free coffee and tea provided.

Value for money was amazing at Tani House. The room was spacious, cozy, and had a traditional feel. The location was peaceful, surrounded by temples, and away from the tourist crowds. The host, Tani, was incredibly warm and helpful throughout our stay.

Food for breakfast could have been more diverse and had more options.

I had a wonderful time staying at a charming old Japanese home run by a kind elderly woman. The traditional style of the house, with its sliding doors, tatami mat room, and narrow hallways, created a unique and authentic experience. Despite not being able to lock the doors, I felt safe and secure throughout my stay. The quiet neighborhood, with its small temple complex, added to the peaceful atmosphere. Mrs. Tani, the host, was delightful and made sure I was comfortable, providing a delicious Japanese breakfast and fruit every morning. The location, though a bit further from downtown, was easily accessible by a bus. Highly recommended for young travelers seeking a one-of-a-kind experience.

    100% Recommend this hotel.

the guesthouse had a charming old-world feel, with vintage furniture and a friendly owner who brought a welcome bowl of matcha. The breakfast was delicious and the owner's hospitality stood out. It's a unique experience for those wanting a peek into Japanese living of the past.

    Dusty and not well-maintained.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating, always going out of their way to meet my requests. The breakfast provided was delicious and homemade, offering a variety of fresh items. The cleanliness of the hotel was impressive, with the shower and sink area being kept spotless.
